Twitter Archiver for Professional Learning

Apr 26, 2016 by

TwitterArchiverThe amount of information that travels through the Twitterverse is overwhelming.  It is difficult to keep track of the rapid stream of fantastic resources and then keep all the things that you might want to use later.  Twitter Archiver is a great tool to keep and sort through all that content.  Twitter Archiver is an Add-on for Google Sheets that will allow you to search for specific hashtags based on search operators.  Once you initiate the Add-on, you can enter your search terms and Twitter Archiver will populate a spreadsheet that you can save as long as you need it.

Doesn’t it concern you that Twitter wants so much access to your accounts? I had to click “deny” when I saw that the list included allowing Twitter to send email as me. This add-on just asks for too much.

    • Thanks for the comment, Jeanne. I agree that we do have to be careful about what we are providing access to when it comes to personal information. The only reason that this particular app asks for this information is so that you (the user) can bundle archived tweets and send them to people as needed. For example, if you saved multiple tweets about a topic and wanted to send them to a friend, you could just hit a button and Archiver will do it for you.

Hope that helps explain- thanks for following!
