Piktochart is a great tool for creating infographics for free.  If you aren’t familiar with infographics, I highly recommend checking out www.dailyinfographic.com for some examples.  Students can use these to present new information, share their own history, explore new information, etc.  Although there is also a Pro version that costs money, there are templates available for free.  Simply insert your information, edit the template however you prefer, and you have a new visual source of information.

Make it mobile: I would have students create graphics using only visuals that they have captured or created themselves- pictures from their phones, self-produced art from their iPad, etc.  Learning becomes relevant when students aren’t just reproducing information but, instead, are creating information.
