As we approach Memorial Day, this Virtual Experience is a great way to walk through history without leaving your classroom.  The 120,000 square foot National Museum of the Marine Corps brings history to life for those near Quantico, Virginia. The Virtual Experience brings history to life in your classroom.  Students can “walk through” the halls with a 360° high definition panoramic tour.  The Virtual Experience includes 3-D models of airplanes and other museum artifacts.  Students can listen to narrated tours as they experience history as though they were actually walking through the halls of the museum.  Be sure to check out the Docent Interviews with actual Marines. The Virtual Experience also includes easy-to-follow instructions.

  1. Delve deeper …. check out MEDAL OF HONOR Lessons of Personal Bravery and Self-Sacrifice at http://www.cmohedu.org. Free lessons with video vignettes. Worth checking out and bringing real-life into a history or ELA classroom

    • Micki,

Thank you for sharing the Medal of Honor site. Lots of good content there AND with some creativity from teachers, I think the flatter portion of the content (write a report, etc.) could become quite engaging.

      Many thanks for sharing!
