Make Science Fun with Tyler DeWitt

Tyler DeWitt did a TED talk about making science fun and telling stories in your science class.  He makes some very good points- especially in the last half of the video and I encourage science teachers to really think about his message.   Tyler says we have to make science fun to engage learners and that science textbooks are horrible communicators of information.   Remember, the “ha-ha” uses the same chemicals in the brain as the “a-ha”… important to have fun in the classroom!

“If a young learner thinks that all viruses have DNA, that’s not going to ruin their chances of success in science. But if a young learner can’t understand anything in science and learns to hate it, then that will.”
