Grant Funding for Mobile Resources

Houghton-Mifflin Harcourt has created a grant finding site for those interested in searching in finding grants for their schools.  The site is comprehensive- offering federal grants, state grants, grant writing assistance, and other e-resources.  There are multiple ways to raise money for your school or classroom but grants seem to be the easiest and quickest in many cases.  This HM site is a great place to go for learning how the process works.

Make it Mobile: As I hear from teachers all the time, not all students have mobile devices for school.  This leads to concerns about increasing the digital divide between those with mobile devices and those without.  Securing grant funding can be one way for a school to raise money to help supply those students without devices.  I don’t think we should abandon all technology simply because a few students do not have access- instead, I think we need to find ways (tech drives, grant funding, endorsements) for all students to get devices in their hands.
