Flocabulary

Ever wondered why a student can’t remember their vocabulary list but knows every lyric to the latest Kanye and Jay-Z albums?  There is power in music and repetition and Flocabulary takes full advantage of our students natural interest in music.   Flocabulary has been around quite a while but still brings fresh, interesting content and videos daily.  They have great resources and students engage with their lyrics.  If nothing else, I encourage to check out their blog where your students can enter contests and have access to their own material.

My favorite feature of Flocabulary is probably their Week in Rap where they summarize the major news stories of the week in rap.  Could you have your students watch one of the raps (consuming) and then create one of their own (producing)?  Check out Flocabulary.  Great tool for the classroom.
