E-Textbooks and Digital Course Materials

CourseSmart is a site that Administrator Brad Francis pointed out to me.  His school, St. Patrick- St. Vincent’s in Vallejo, CA is moving to a 1:1 Mobile Device program.  Brad was finding that many e-textbooks are not any cheaper than regular textbooks.  Certain courses still need a textbook of some kind, AP Courses, for example, in order to pass their College Board audit.  One of the things we were discussing though was the option of not using a textbook at all.  Could teachers cover the content using just the free resources already available to us?   Please share your thoughts!

If you decide you definitely need an e-text, you may want to check out CourseSmart.  Good luck as you continue to go digital.
