The Culturally Authentic Pictorial Lexicon is a great site for finding pictures that are appropriate and authentic from other cultures.  Often times teachers, especially those in modern languages, use their own photos but find it hard to locate other photos that are relevant and realistic.  Thankfully, the CAPL has put many images in one place.

In the Classroom or Making It Mobile: Teachers could use this site and these photos for writing prompts but could also have students reproduce these photos in their own community (art), translate words (languages), convert into different metric systems (math), identify foods, plants, etc. (science), or study a certain location (social studies).
