Scootpad for teaching efficiency

Jan 18, 2017 by

scootpadScootPad combines curriculum and learning management into one learning tool.  Students are given a placement assessment to locate where they are on the learning path.  Following the placement, teachers can create or assign content and instruction with adaptive exercises that appear based on the student’s proficiency level with that topic.  While students are interacting with the content, teachers get real time data that can be used to inform instruction.  ScootPad helps identify intervention needs and provides assessments to determine students’ progress toward standards-based mastery.  The algorithms that support student progress, free up the teacher to work more with students directly while everyone works toward mastery.

Repost: Recap app for formative assessment

Dec 20, 2016 by

RecapThe Recap app is an easy way for students to respond to questions posed by the teacher in a video format.  Teachers create assignments or prompts on a web browser and then assign them to students.  Students use the camera on an iPad to record a video response and then submit it to the teacher for review.  Teachers can share the video responses with parents, peers, or other teachers.  The Recap app is a great way for teachers to keep track of students progress over the course of the year.  This app is also a great tool for  English language learners or those studying world languages- they can see how fluent they are and what they need to work on.  Check it out!
