A Random Thought on Twitter

I rarely do this but here is a random thought headed into the weekend…

I like Twitter and think it is a useful tool.  However, sometimes the amount of tweets that a person puts out becomes overwhelming and I stop paying attention to tweets from them.  This is sad because the people I follow tend to have good ideas as leaders in the field.

I understand the need for some to use social media to create a presence. However, I would prefer quality to quantity.  If you are putting something out there because you really believe in the message and want it to be shared, I am all in.  However,  if you are putting something out there just to establish a presence, that presence (to me) is “annoying”.   I am not trying to be disrespectful but I think sometimes people’s great ideas get lost because they are so set on establishing their “social brand”…  Just a random Friday thought.  Have a great weekend.

  1. I echo your sentiments. I prefer to follow those who filter their tweets a bit more. “Less is more” was my credo as a teacher and continues to be that as a consultant & tweeter!
